The Account Director is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of Effective’s largest accounts. They own the client relationship and are responsible for long-term planning, strategic consulting and business development. The account director sets the direction of the account and creates conditions for the delivery teams to be successful.  The role is responsible for identifying and driving account growth / revenue through strategic relationship building and value-added consulting services.

 

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the strategic account partner and client advocate
  • Develops and helps build trust-based partnerships at C-suite / Executive level through thought leadership
  • Seeks out opportunities to engage in broader business dialogue by aligning Effective value add services to client business goals and KPIs
  • Drives strategy for account by developing account plan which includes client’s business mission, goals and objectives, organization chart, key stakeholders, influencers and decision makers, integrators, dependencies and barriers
  • Attends all major milestones meetings, owns account health meetings and coaches account team members on client’s business
  • Accountable for account success, delivery quality and client satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Serves as a point of escalation for client objections related to staffing, billing, costs, resources, or quality of service, and escalating to management when appropriate
  • Accountable for client P&L including revenue and profit targets
  • Drives growth by leveraging change, new opportunities, value pricing
  • Active in business development, proposals and sales presentations
  • Responsible for writing and approving SOWs, Contracts & MSAs understanding the client’s internal processes for approval and execution
  • Provides motivation to the team about the work to build rapport and ensure collaboration so everyone is working toward a common goal
  • Understands client's business, culture, organizational needs, values, and opportunities and the industry trends shaping their markets

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience managing and growing client accounts
  • 3+ years of experience of working within a digital, product or creative agency
  • Excellent client service skills including oral and written communication
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • An expert storyteller with superior presentation skills to effectively present and sell ideas to the clients C-suite / Executive team members
  • Able to understand and translate complex business challenges and consumer insight into smart digital solutions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels and functions
  • Creative thinking and problem solving
  • Understanding of Human-Centered Design thinking
  • A working knowledge of personas, user flows, sitemaps, wireframes, usability testing, data and analytics
  • Sound business acumen
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • And an insatiable curiosity and eagerness to learn (and listen)

 

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of related industry experience, preferably consulting, interactive or agency experience
  • Competencies and understanding of project and program management
  • Understanding of emerging technologies
  • Financial, Healthcare or Digital Transformation industry acumen
